Littles Learn and Play

Join us for a fun and engaging class where preschoolers will explore letters, numbers, fine motor skills, and early literacy concepts through play-based learning. Each week will include hands-on activities designed to help your little one grow, discover, and develop to their fullest potential—all while having fun with friends!

Musical Moments

Let's explore some popular songs and musicians!! Ever wondered why this song is so popular? Why is it played so much? How many times has it been re-recorded? Each week we will learn about a musician and their songs, sing their song and dive into the reason it's so popular. Song choices will be anything from Opera, Classical, Holiday based to Christian genres.

Get to the Point: Communication 101

This class will focus on key communication concepts and strategies with a biblical foundation. We will research historical and modern approaches to communication, evaluate critical components of effective communication, and develop strategies to help each student become more aware of how they communicate with the world. This class will include weekly assignments, and will give students an opportunity to test and evaluate various forms of communication as a class.

Story Adventurers

Reading is more than turning pages—it’s a journey into new worlds, ideas, and adventures! A good book can teach, comfort, and inspire, and this class is designed to spark that love of reading in every child.
We’ll dive into fun stories like The Day the Crayons Quit and How I Became a Pirate—books that get kids thinking, laughing, and imagining. Together, we’ll explore how main characters solve problems, learn about the parts of a story, and even create our own homemade picture books!

Art Explorers: What’s Your Medium?

Join us each week as we explore a variety of art mediums and techniques! Students will experiment with crayons, colored pencils, oil and chalk pastels, watercolor, charcoal, and paint to create unique works of art in each class. We’ll discover how different materials can express different moods, textures, and ideas—just like real artists do!
Please wear clothes that can get messy while you create and explore.

Advanced Photography

You can’t put your camera down because it makes your heart sing. Let’s review basics while building on your skillset. In this class we will improve our photography. Learn how to set up a shot. Learn how to judge our own work and adjust to make it better. We will build our skills each week to use manual mode. We will learn how to do some quick edits using photography software.
Students will be required to bring their own personal camera.

Game On! Are you a gamer?

No, not video games—we’re going old school! Join us as we explore the world of board games, card games, classic favorites, and fun new twists. We’ll play timeless games like UNO, Dominoes, Yahtzee, and Pictionary, along with newer favorites like Exploding Kittens, Tacocat, and Bumfuzzle.
Games aren’t just fun—they help us think strategically, communicate clearly, practice good sportsmanship, and build teamwork skills. Plus, they’re a great way to make friends and laugh together! Got a family favorite? Bring it in and teach the class!

Let’s Get Cooking!

Let’s get cooking this semester at Archway! The goal of this class is for each student to prepare and serve meals confidently at home. In between cooking lessons, emphasis will be placed on meal planning, etiquette, and nutrition along with Bible devotions. Students will build a resourceful booklet of the semester’s lessons and recipes to take home.

Math Explorers

In this class, we will work together on counting, addition, and simple word problems in a fun, group setting. Lessons are geared toward the kindergarten level and will use visual and hands-on techniques to build strong foundational math skills. Students will learn through books, games, worksheets, and interactive activities. Word problems will help students begin developing early critical thinking skills. Students should already be able to count to 30 before joining the class.

Lego Building: STEM learning fun

In this class, students will build creativity and problem-solving skills while exploring the basics of engineering using LEGO bricks and other STEM fun. Each week, we’ll begin with a base plate and add new elements as students design, build, and imagine through guided instruction and hands-on exploration. We’ll also work together LEGO kits to practice following step-by-step building directions and strengthen spatial reasoning skills.

Project Crochet Kids

Let's learn to crochet together! If you are curious about whether your fingers & hands can create cute toys, a simple dishcloth, a little valentine, or a bookmark, then this basic beginner class is where to start. Boys & girls can learn how to start crocheting, and/or build on their skills they might already know. All students should be willing to work on their skills at home each week. Our class goal is for each student to have 3-4 small finished items/projects to showcase on the last day of class.

Each week, we’ll enjoy songs, rhythm instruments, stories, and creative playtime—all designed to make learning joyful and fun.

Buckle up for a trip around the USA. Each week we will discuss a different state, learn all kinds of fun facts, sample popular foods and have some show and tell! At the end of 12 weeks, we will have a huge celebration of the most popular state we covered and enjoy food and beverages.

More Than Fitness: Strong Heart, Strong Mind

Did you know that exercise naturally makes us happier? In this class, students will experience firsthand the powerful connection between movement and mindset. Each session begins with a dynamic warm-up, followed by calisthenics, body-weight, and partner exercises designed to get our hearts pumping and energy flowing. As we cool down with stretches, we’ll reflect on how physical activity influences our emotions, focus, and overall outlook. By the end of each class, students will discover that fitness builds not only strong bodies—but strong minds and hearts, too!

History with American Girls

History with American Girls class is a fun way to learn about American history, nurture the enjoyment of reading, and broaden reading skills. This semester we will meet Josefina Montoya, a girl growing up in 1824 as the Santa Fe Trail pushes America West. Creative crafts, delicious foods, exciting games, and a field trip will enhance the learning experience. Students will read all six Josefina series books and Josefina mystery books. Students are required to read the book selections at home. A book list will be given in advance so you can find them at the library or a local thrift store or online.

True Beauty

You are beautiful—inside and out! In this upbeat and encouraging class, girls will be reminded that true beauty begins with character: compassion, kindness, faith, hope, love, humility, and purpose. Each week, we’ll focus on developing a positive outlook and explore health and beauty tips, including how to apply makeup in a natural and graceful way.

Each class will include a short devotion to remind us that living beautifully means allowing God to live through us. We’ll also talk about the importance of surrounding ourselves with uplifting friends and how our choices in relationships can shape who we become.

Little Gardeners: Growing and Learning Together

In this class, students will explore the basics of gardening in fun, hands-on ways! We’ll discover how plants grow, learn about fruits and vegetables, and find creative ways to use everyday household items to help our gardens thrive. Through stories, songs, crafts, and outdoor learning, students will gain an appreciation for nature and the joy of growing things themselves.

Kids in the Kitchen

Kids in the Kitchen is a fun learning experience in which students develop culinary skills through preparing simple entrée foods, snacks, and desserts. In between lessons in the kitchen, emphasis will be placed on etiquette, manners, and nutrition. Bible devotions will accompany the culinary fun. At the end of the semester, students will have compiled a fun recipe book to take home.

HOLA AMIGOS! ESPANOL KIDS

1 Uno, 2 dos,3 tres... and so much more FUN learning & being exposed to words in a new language. Through books, songs, and A LOT of repeat & play, students will sing and speak Spanish on the first day! Success in this class will require continued practice at home each week, helping build your & your student's confidence to return to class and say HOLA AMIGOS!

Team Time

This class is designed to teach kids a variety of fun team games so they can confidently play with others and understand the rules! We’ll enjoy non-sport team games such as Capture the Flag, Kickball, Simon Says, variations of Tag, and many more exciting group activities.
Students should wear sneakers and bring a water bottle each week, ready for active play and teamwork!

Money Management For Teens

Who doesn't want their teen to learn how to earn and save money? In this class, we will cover the history of money, why to save and how to open up banking accounts. The difference between a debit and credit card is the key to financial success. Each student will get to choose a summer job, living off their pay for 7 days, balancing their money and deciding what "necessities" are important to them. There's so much to learn in a short period of time and NOW is the time to teach them.

Vincent Van Gogh- Art Appreciation- Picture Study

Every week we will do a study on a particular art piece of Vincent Van Gogh. The Charlotte Mason theory is to cultivate an environment where our children can be and enjoy to be life-long learners. Students will study a picture of Van Gogh’s masterful work, exchange ideas about the title and it’s story, and share their likes and dislikes. We will also color our own depiction of the artwork to take home.

Beginning Photography

Learn to use your camera and it's settings to create beautiful photos. We will learn the basic camera settings, simple use of natural light, simple angles and learn a few fun tricks along the way! Photography extends beyond the class room and will be a fun skill to last a lifetime!
