Do you like to design and build cool things? Join this class to learn a variety of skill sets and subjects, including basic programming, electronics, design, 3D printing and construction.

Drama Club

Join our Drama Club for ages 5-8! Explore theatre skills through captivating Bible stories featuring Moses, King David, and Jonah. Discover the art of character portrayal, understanding motivations, and conveying emotions authentically. We'll discuss and compare interpretations, integrating ELA study and speaking/listening techniques. Engage in small group, individual, and large group activities to ignite creativity and foster growth in a vibrant, collaborative environment. Let's bring stories to life together!

Conversational Spanish

Spanish is the second most spoken language in the US. Learning this prominent language offers ample opportunities to share the Gospel on mission here at home. In this class students will gain the knowledge, vocabulary, and linguistic structures necessary for students to begin conversing in Spanish immediately. Through a variety of mediums the fall semester will cover common conversational topics such items in the home, chores, missionary
& tourist destinations, the weather, and holidays. To celebrate and practice their new conversational skills we will throw a fiesta en el último día de la clase (the last day of class)!
**Students are welcome to take this course multiple semesters as the unit topics/vocabulary will vary.

History with American Girls

History with American Girls class is a fun way to learn about American history, nurture the enjoyment of reading, and broaden reading skills. This semester, students will learn about cooperation, resourcefulness, and World War Two through the stories of Molly McIntire, set in 1944. Creative crafts, delicious foods, exciting games, a service project, a special guest speaker, and a field trip will enhance the learning experience. Students will read all six Molly series books and selected Molly mystery books. Students are required to read the book selections at home. A book list will be given in advance so you can find them at the library or a local thrift store or online.

Music, Movement and More

In this class we will learn through stories, movement, and music. We will also do crafts and other activities relating to our story for the day.

Advanced Photography

You can’t put your camera down because it makes your heart sing. Let’s review basics while building on your skillset. In this class we will improve our photography. Learn how to set up a shot. Learn how to judge our own work and adjust to make it better. We will use build up each week to use Manuel Mode. We will learn how to do some quick edits.
**Students will be required to bring their own personal camera.

Young Painters

This class is for young students to begin to learn about painting. We will learn how to mix colors, how to take care of our materials, and what to paint! I plan to loosely use Barry Stebbing's, "I Can Do All Things" beginning drawing and painting curriculum. We will be using acrylic paint so please dress your child in clothing that can get permanent paint on it.

Money Management for Teens

Do you want your children to be financially independent and to manage their money responsibly? Being financially independent is a great feeling and it all starts when they're young. We will cover how to earn money (babysitting, chores, mowing yards etc), how they manage money once they get paid, but most importantly, how they can save money. We will also dive into setting up a bank account, using a debit card and the good vs. bad money habits. There are all kind of temptations out there, making good choices makes our money last longer! There will be a bible verse each week relating to money. We will be using Dave Ramsey teens, Bank Account Math and Teachers Pay Teachers curriculums in this 12 week class!

How did NC get started? Learn about Native Americans and explorers, and discover NC’s biggest mystery, The Lost Colony. Even before The American Revolution there was fighting here. We will learn about the Battle of Alamance. (and Pirates!) So much history! So little time!

Unlock the power of music in our Chorus, Music Literacy, and Music Appreciation course designed especially for students 9+. Dive into the world of vocal harmonies as we explore a diverse range of musical genres and styles. From learning the basics of reading music to creating complex harmonies exemplified by the world famous a cappella group - Pentatonix, this class will elevate each student's musical knowledge and performance skills. Students are invited to join us on this melodic journey where a passion for music meets education in a dynamic and inspiring environment. No prior musical experience required, just a love for music and a willingness to explore the unlimited possibilities within the realm of sound. **Note: All musical selections for class will be Christian, gospel centered.

Intro to Spanish Grammar

Being bilingual opens many social and professional doors! Learning a new language should always be a fun and pleasant experience! This course is designed to introduce the grammar aspect of the Spanish learning process in a fun and dynamic way. In this class students will start building a strong foundation for more advanced Spanish courses at a high school level. We will slowly introduce simple grammar structures through reading, writing, listening and conversation. We will use games as a fun and dynamic tool to promote participation and to learn and practice grammar concepts. There will be great opportunities to practice listening skills from a native Spanish speaker as well as correct pronunciation in Spanish. Students that have had some exposure to Spanish vocabulary, and conversational classes will benefit the most from this class, but all students interested in jumping into the learning process of the grammatical aspect of the language are welcome to join the class!

Beginning Photography

Learn to use your camera and it's settings to create beautiful photos. We will learn the basic camera settings, simple use of natural light, simple angles and learn a few fun tricks along the way! Photography extends beyond the class room and will be a fun skill to last a lifetime! Parents are welcome too!

Fancy Nancy Tea Time

Welcome to Fancy Nancy Tea Time for little girls, where young readers are invited to step into a world of imagination and creativity as we embark on enchanting literary adventures inspired by the beloved character. Through captivating storytime sessions and imaginative activities, children will develop an love for all things artistically beautiful, an adventerous spirit, and linguistic flair, by having fun with new vocabulary words, including those in French, just like Fancy Nancy herself. Join us for a fanciful journey where we'll explore literature, etiquette, and the joy of learning together. Let the adventures in reading and tea begin!

Advanced Crochet

In this class we will move beyond the basic stitches to try out some more complex patterns such as stuffed animals and bags, along with new stitches such as the bobble stitch and lemon peel stitch. To join this class, students must have a firm knowledge of chain, single, and double crochet. So bring your hooks and yarn and come deepen your knowledge of this amazing art form.

Cursive Writing

Penmanship is a classic skill that puts your student a step above the crowd. We’ll learn the alphabet and then move on to linking those letters to make beautiful handwriting. We will add in some basic spelling rules, “I before E except after C…” and we will practice reading grandma’s writing, too. When signing documents and writing checks, practice makes perfect!

Kids in the Kitchen

Kids in the Kitchen is a fun learning experience in which students develop culinary skills through preparing simple entrée foods, snacks, and desserts. In between lessons in the kitchen, emphasis will be placed on etiquette, manners, and nutrition. Bible devotions will go along with the culinary fun. At the end of the semester, students will have compiled a fun recipe book to take home.

Level Up Volleyball

Ready to level up your volleyball skills? Join our dynamic class, where we focus on expanding fundamental techniques while fostering teamwork and positivity. Girls will enhance their passing, setting, and serving abilities and also make new friends while having a blast outside. Get ready for short volleyball sets and thrilling "Queen of the Court" matches as we elevate our game together. This Volleyball Class is led by a mother/daughter team. Samantha plays for Alamance Acers homeschool volleyball team. She enthusiastically shares her love of the game and hopes to inspire young players. ​ **Students will need to wear running shoes and bring a water bottle.

Let's Get Cooking

Let’s get cooking this semester at Archway! The goal of this class is for each student to be able to prepare and serve meals with confidence at home. In between cooking lessons, emphasis will be placed on meal planning, etiquette, and nutrition along with Bible devotions. Students will build a resourceful booklet of the semester’s lessons and recipes to take home.

Then we’ll branch out and explore the rest of the globe discussing the continents, countries, oceans, landforms, and animals! Want to learn how to make scarves, hats, blankets, stuffed animals, and more? It can all be done with the basics you learn in this class. Math Games

Math + games = FUN! This class is designed to provide a fun and dynamic environment for students to practice basic math concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, place value, area and perimeter, problem solving, numerical expressions, decimals, and more. Games will be used as a resource to help keep students engaged in building strategic thinking and developing problem solving skills. This class is intended to reinforce math foundational concepts and to provide an opportunity for students to build fluency in an engaging and enjoyable way.

Biblical Astronomy

This course will explore the astronomical cosmology of the Bible. Each week a different constellation craft will be made with the Tabernacle and Tribes of Israel as the central focus.
